but you don’t love fixing up cars. you just like the idea of fixing up cars.
see the reality of it all is that the time and money that you spend on a car and all of the effort in research, labor and creativity all just goes into one thing: the car. it’s metal, wires, plastic, rubber. it doesn’t love you back. it’s just a car. yet you say you love fixing up cars, but you don’t. you just love the idea of it all. but in reality you don’t love all of the sweat and labor involved. who wants to get sweaty over a few moments of satisfaction after a modification? i surely don’t like it.
yet for some reason, tens of thousands of dollars and six years later, you always seem to want to spend your sunday afternoons working on the car. you’ve probably sweated gallons and gallons over the thing. and it doesn’t love you back. but there’s still that gravity that draws you in.
now take that exact same analogy and apply it to being deeply and madly in like with a girl.
