measuring your site’s performance

octagate’s sitetimer is a wonderful way to measure the load times of your entire site, based on URL.  i say based on URL because this online tool doesn’t measure EVERYTHING on your server, only whatever the url’s content loads.  so if you have some sort of server-intensive script that isn’t linked to your page, don’t expect it to be measured unless pointed directly at it.

below is a screenshot of underattacker’s performance.  now my rss feed is something i don’t use and it takes up a bit of loading time.  maybe i should fix that.  and wow.  i knew twitter would hang sometimes and delay the loading time of my sidebar, but sheesh that loading time is pretty bad.
