so i was reading some guy’s blog posting today and it made me mad.
now i wasn’t too mad considering this guy knew what he was talking about in his other blog entries, but that specific entry ticked me off. it’s not designing when you use the same fonts all of the time. sometimes your clients will want to use those ugly fonts. there’s no way around it. you just have to design around those fonts. sometimes, those so-called “ugly fonts” will work well.
what about your readers? what if they like comic sans? then give them comic sans. using a certain font or avoiding it based on personal opinion is utterly ridiculous. just use what your users love. use what gets your message out there. even if that means using comic sans. just live with it.
and i don’t know about you, but that guy needs to change his font weight, size and font itself. i guess that’s one reason why i didn’t think this guy knew what he was talking about when he claimed which fonts are ugliest: i had a hard time reading what he was trying to say because of his own font in the first place.
