i don’t plan to migrate all of my previous posts from the old blog, mostly because those were more of a personal blog, but i have fully migrated from my own custom cms to wordpress. i was intimidated at first, but after a couple hours of looking over the php source files, i have discovered that integrating my design into wordpress couldn’t be much simpler. although wordpress’ syntax and custom functions threw me off at first, all it took was some pushes of the “enter” button on the keyboard to clean up their code. i tried my best to replicate my exact design and although it isn’t completely identical, i feel accomplished at where my blog is at now considering how intimidated i was to get into wordpress, drupal, joomla, textpattern and the like. it’s pretty good i think. with the exception of my graphical navigation on the left, the stripes on the right, the search bar and the footer, i think i did pretty good. have a look for yourself at my original design and feel free to compare it to what i have now.
not bad for a first timer i guess. but i will definitely be making constant tweaks and changes to this layout, especially the realignment of everything. i still have a lot of bugs and fixes to do. if you’re using the latest version of mozilla firefox, you should be good. internet explorer 7 users should see a pretty decent design as well, IE6 i’m not so sure about you guys. you should all be using firefox anyway.
like i said, many many tweaks and changes will be made to the layout to get it to run a lot more efficiently, so please bear with me. i would also appreciate it if you would pass this link on to other fellow designers, web developers, friends, etc.
so what can you expect to see in terms of content? well one thing you’ll notice is that the gallery and assassin page updates will all be posted here with a direct link to whatever gallery you need to go to. once those updates start coming in, you’ll see their corresponding category posted to the right. you can also see a bunch of my favorite pages that i like to browse on a daily basis over to your right. you’ll find plenty of new and upcoming technologies, reviews and videos of some of the crazy internet finds that i always seem to stumble upon. you know the kind: robotic jellyfish, automated robots that reassemble themselves, exoskeleton suits that give you super strength, etc.
i find this stuff all the time. i’m tired of sharing these finds on myspace or by e-mail. so expect a couple of new posts every 2 or 3 days.
you will also find an assortment of things that i learn. whether it be something in PHP, mysql, actionscript/flash, html/css, javascript, etc., i will post my findings on this blog for all of you to try out for yourself. and of course, you all know me, you all know i have plenty of tips, tricks and hacks to share with you all. so i hope to not disappoint everyone.
