where do hair extensions come from?

in every salon and beauty supply store, there are hair extensions made of “real human hair”…and at least 30% of the girls that i see walking around on a daily basis have hair extensions. yet i hardly ever hear of girls selling their hair to extension companies. i have one friend who donated her hair to cancer patients. so my question is “where is all this hair coming from?” there can’t be possibly enough women in the world selling their hair to these companies. and with everyone wanting the longer hair look, who is cutting off all their hair and selling it anyway? i do have one theory though. people (both men and women) are being held captive and harvested for their hair. they keep them unconscious their whole lives and their families just think they’ve been murdered or something. this is the only logical explanation.

what are some better words I can use to replace the ones I frequently use in common day language? ex: using plethora instead of a lot. what are some words you use often that one might consider adding to their vocabulary?

the best way to improve your vocabulary is to read. read the new york times, a fiction book, a nonfiction book, subscribe to words of the day, etc. asking someone for words to substitute certain words is a cop out. because you are the one that is talking, you want the words to flow naturally and not come off as pretentious. when it’s within your personality to use “plethora” and “ignoramus”, then you should do so. a good source for amazing words and quick reads would be poetry. poets use every word and nuance to their fullest potential. it’s very admirable.
