been wanting to get into hardware hacking
arduino and other similar microcontrollers to be more specific. it’d be nice to put together a motion sensor security system based on how much light is in the room and how much movement.
arduino basics with accelerometer
a really cool EMF detector

electrical hack: 1tb HD media player for the bmw
the goal for this mod is simple: to be able to watch anything from my entire movie collection in the comfort of my own car via a western digital media player and western digital 1tb passport drive. hardwiring something like this to a vehicle’s unregulated DC electrical system was not going to be easy either. stage 1 photos inside!

fs: hp mini note 2133 w/ osx leopard
if you’re interested, let me know. thinking about picking up the new hp mini 1000. msrp on this thing was $570, but considering the new mini 1000 just came out for about $400, i’m willing to let this go to the right person with a substantial discount. it will definitely cost more money if you want to purchase it with all of the operating systems installed which include:
- ubuntu and kubuntu
- windows xp
- patched osx leopard 10.5 (wi-fi, ethernet, audio working)
otherwise, a fresh install of any linux you wish or windows xp will come with the device. priority to local friends. i know there are a ton of you guys out there who want this thing.
