dealing with clients
it’s a part of the job. but how do you deal with the ones that want a whole lot of something for a whole lot of nothing?

you’ve gotta be pretty epic
if you’re the one interviewing the interviewer based on whether or not you want to work at a place or not.
pacific beach, downtown, mission valley, la mesa, la jolla and lemon grove are my options here for places trying to hire me. still stoked that some of them recognized my work featured on various web design galleries.

blameitonboogie
is currently undergoing a full redesign and recode, mostly because it takes so freaking long to load. who knows how much business i’ve lost because my concept one-page portfolio? my “bounce rate” was so bad and i’m 100% convinced it was because of the loading times. if i were a client, i’d close out on a page that seemed “frozen” too.
well i decided to do a bit of cleaning up. took out the nasty bits and pieces that were hardly used on the portfolio. the contact form, some of the more undesireable designs that i didn’t find too appealing. the “about me”. the intro message. this cut loading times almost in half.
by doing this, i’ve also tripled the amount of emails that come into my inbox regarding freelance projects and interviews. looks like vacation will be extended for now. =)

advice for design students
Having some sort of presence in the design world has left me quite a position to fill, in fact, I still get an email or two from students or other colleagues requesting design advice.
