i was thinking more along the lines of this typography style and menu interaction mixed with full-screen photos of you humming “girl from impanema”

this one’s a good one. it’s basically a project-management app (more like time-management) which is perfect for those who want to keep track of how much time they actually spend a day on projects. what i like? projects are color-coded. everything is drag-and-drop. you can archive projects as they complete. what i don’t like? there is no way for you to manage your income per hour or per project. it’s simply just managing the hours you spend per task, per project.

i just started using it, but wait til the weeks go by.  this thing have more colors than a rainbow.

“Don’t let the simple design fool you, this is the hardest game ever. It’s still very entertaining as each level is possible to complete, just more and more tedious and time consuming as the game progresses. this is not for pathetic people that get anxiety or emotional over simple logic problems that require quick thinking, this game is for winners.”

because i look at this project and i am confident i can do everything on this project.  from the animation to the navigation, the “recycle” 3d explode animation and the video green screen work (whether it be done inside after effects or flash), you’d better hope you can do this stuff.  because if you can’t keep up with me, someone who doesn’t focus on flash as much as you probably do, you’d better start worrying about your skills.

19 webmaster no-no’s

One might say that if you followed all of my commandments, the web would be a boring, dry and conformist web of sites only engineered for 1 thing; selling. And you’re right, but thankfully the world is full of so-called “creative” people and they keep it interesting for the rest of us.

I’ve compiled a small rant list of some very basic and fundamental rules that all webmasters must learn and respect when developing a website that needs to make actual money. This list can also be used by companies looking to hire a web development firm or to evaluate an already deployed website project.

fellow classmate adam has created a pretty siik mashup using flash/as3, xml/rss and flickr’s api, which i had turned away from thankfully.

flickr invasion is pretty straightforward.  just input a flickr username and 20 of their images, most likely their latest ones, will appear and they will try to kill you.  your object is to get rid of them before they get rid of you.  game is very asteroids-like.

why designers aren’t web designers

granted, you may be a most excellent designer in your field, whether that be newspaper layout, graphic design, or whatever. Odds are, however, you don’t have that same level of expertise in the world of web design. why not? You have the essential skills in your mind, the capability, you’re capable! However, being capable is great when you’re designing your personal blog, your MySpace profile, and that site for your neighbor’s book club. However, clients tend not to see this and figure that since you know HTML, you can make them a website too.

just need some quick guidance to finish my flash mashup twitter project (screens coming soon) which is due monday.

does anyone have any decent array push examples they can show me? just something like when i push a button, that will load the next item within an array/xml file?

seriously this multiuser-authoring project is going to be the death of me.
