the fact that
people can come together like this without much notice says a lot; and that’s all i gotta say about that.

went to deposit a few checks at the ATM today and some group of kids came up to me with the usual “hey nice car” chit chat. as usual, i thanked them. usually, the conversation would end there and we would all part ways, but these guys tried to slang me the whole “hey why dont you come down to the meets? we have them every wednesday”.
now if you know me pretty well, you know that i went to these weekly meets religiously. i was hardcore. i would meetup with friends in chula vista, caravan up to balboa ave. islands for happy hour where my group of 4 would meet with a group of 8, then we’d all roll into the weekly meets sometimes 20-30 cars deep. those were the days and, at the time, leading this group of people was quite the task. but when we rolled into that meet, it made it all worthwhile. granted, i didn’t have the nicest car in the bunch, but my personality and leadership definitely put me up there at the meets. and if you knew me well enough, you’d know the whole story.
but i didn’t really feel like explaining to these high school kids that i was OG. i didn’t have enough hours to go through all the drama or reasoning as to why i stopped going to the meets. i just stopped. and that’s that.
but sooner or later, if these kids are cool enough, they’ll get it.

stopped messing around
and finally put my uke to some use. i’ve been meaning to learn some jake shimabukuro songs on the uke. he IS the reason i bought one in the first place. currently practicing “while my guitar gently weeps”.
then i forgot that he was epic at the uke. this is going to take some time. and some skin =*(

put all that talk to use this time around
